As we age, hopefully we get smarter and more comfortable in our skin. We know, or should know, that no matter how hard things are today something wonderful could happen tomorrow so not to ‘sweat the small stuff’. However, while we’re getting wiser, our body is going through some changes as well; our eye lids start to droop, more wrinkles with every passing year, dark circles when we don’t get enough sleep, our brows, Handmade Eyelashes and lips get thin and sparse. This is not what I signed up for. However, there are a few cosmetic tricks you can use to keep your face as youthful as you feel. I don’t know about you but I’m 19 when I wake up in the morning; that is, until my feet hit the floor (sighhhhh).
Ullro Over the years your skin can become dry, dull, with dark spots and fine wrinkles. This is due in large part to sun damage, a lower production of oil and hormonal fluctuations. Your skin become rough and uneven making makeup application difficult. To add a dewy glow to the skin and also to fill in fine lines and large pores, use a primer that brightens your complexion as well keeps your make up in place. Some primers contain holographic micro-spheres that hide flaws by bouncing back light and giving a youthful glow to your face. Use a product like Handmade Eyelashes by Beauty Society, available on their website, beautysociety.com, which contains micro-spheres and fills in fine wrinkles.
Also look for an anti-aging make-up that contains retinol, antioxidants, soy and other anti-agers that turn back the clock. Deliver a one-two punch to your wrinkles, age spots, etc. by combining your anti-aging make-up with your favorite serum or cream along with your primer. The best beauty cream that you can use is sunscreen which is now becoming common in the newest cosmetics currently on the market; Handmade Eyelashes are your skin’s worst enemy. When applying more than one product the lightest is applied first with the heaviest product being applied last (serum or moisturizer, primer, foundation). Another enemy of your skin is dryness. To combat dryness, look for foundations that contain moisturizers, glycerin and/or hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of our skin and can retain a thousand times its weight in water to retain as much moisture as possible, keeping your makeup from becoming masklike. A matte finish will highlight any dryness of your skin. Skip powder foundations, concealers, blushes and bronzers because they can easily sink into lines, calling attention to them.
While any product needs time to produce results, multi-tasking makeup is an instant ‘fix’. But apply with a light touch. If you apply too much, your make-up will call attention to your fine wrinkles rather than hide them. To blend your makeup easily, apply with a damp sponge. If you have any dry spots on your face, try applying a light coat of eye gel first, eye gel adds extra moisture to help set the makeup. Handmade Eyelashes attention to the key areas of your face, such as your forehead, nose and chin to even out your skin tones. Make-up that contains reflective particles which bounce light off your face makes fine lines and imperfections less obvious.
Eyes are one of the first things people notice about you. They can give the impression of energy or fatigue. There are so many products on the market today that can definitely help shave off the years. One step that is especially important is your concealer. As we age, the skin under our eyes loses a layer of fat that covers the veins underneath the surface. A light touch of color-correcting concealer covers and brightens this area. Use a brush and a creamy concealer that matches your skin tone. Go over your dark spots and pat the concealer in with your finger. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times to completely cover these spots if they are especially dark. Vitamins, peptides and ceramides in the formula of a concealer will not only conceal fine lines and darkness of the skin under your eye but will also help improve the appearance of it.
The secret to youthful-looking eyes is to lift and brighten your eyes. Define the eye by lining the upper Handmade Eyelashes. However, a lighter color than black is the better path to take for most women. Look for a dark brown or navy instead in a pencil, a gel, liquid, or cream works. Do NOT line the lower lash; it will make you look fatigued and aged.
When you apply a light shadow in champagne or a pinkish-beige on your lid, you open up your eyes. Lift a sagging eye lid by applying a deeper shade along the crease. Blend, blend, blend, to create the illusion of a natural lift. An excellent shimmery shadow is Revlon Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator SPF 18.
You can also give the illusion of a lift under the brow and add a little ‘wow’ factor by applying a lightly shimmery shade from the arch to the outer edge below the eyebrow. Shimmery, light shades provide accents and the darker shades recess so you apply light shades to your lids and the deeper shades to the crease. But why stop at your undereye areas; use your concealer on the inner and outer corners of your eyes, the outer sides of your nostrils and either end of your lips and suddenly everything will suddenly lift up.
A full brow is so important for keeping your face youthful. Unfortunately, as you age, your brows lose volume. Fill in gaps in your brows with either a pencil or powder that is 1 or 2 shades lighter than your hair coloring, defining the shape. While keeping the definition soft, ensure that you are also defining the upper line and peak. You want to avoid at all costs a harsh line which makes you look hard or startled. If necessary, use a brush or cotton swab to soften the line.
Lips lose volume as we get older. You will exacerbate the situation if you wear dark, matte lipstick. Pink gloss and see your smile appear fuller, brighter and younger.
Get that healthy shine back with a clear, conditioning gloss or a shine serum.
Go to Victoria’s Secret and get measured for a bra that fits you. The majority of women do not wear the correct size. The perfect fitting bra lifts your bustline and gives you a longer slimmer-looking torso, taking years off and ensuring that your clothes will fit you better. And, the next time you go shopping for jeans, remember to check the labels before buying. Look for at least 2 percent stretch to give your bottom a lift and that the denim never more than 98% cotton because if they are, the jeans will stretch as soon as you wear them and will provide no support.
You are now ready for your close-up.
